Radio Theatre of the Wild West
with George Webber
Sundays 6pm to 7pm
Radio Theatre of the Wild West is old fashioned radio theatre with a Western theme. This original show is written and hosted by George Webber playing Wild West Willie. Hosting with George are Joe Herrshaft voicing Desperado Johnny, and Will Penna as the voice of Nebrasky. Famous guests from the past appear live on the show, including Mark Twain, Captain John Fremont, General Vallejo, and George's own original characters: Old Cougar Face and Bear Claw Bob. These two crusty trappers turned gold-miners appear in a show-within-a-show entitled: Sittin' by the Fire.
Radio Theatre of the Wild West also features interview shows with local history legends. Among others, Mike Wilson: a Jack London re-enactor, S.F. Chronicle reporter Carl Nolte, and Archeologist Breck Parkman have all been interviewed by Wild West Willie and his crew.
George Webber is an actor, singer, historian, wine expert and voice over artist. After twenty years of performing on the Pacific Stock Exchange he retired in 1999 and returned to his real love: entertaining. Owner of the General Vallejo Walking Tour of the Sonoma Plaza, and the Mark Twain Walking Tour of the Sonoma Plaza, he appears as these two famous westerners while dressed in period costume. He also performs as the wacky wine expert "Professor Vine" in wine lectures
at local wineries and corporate events. There's also Luigi and Zoltar...but perhaps it would be easier to click on www.georgewebber.com to get the whole story.
George is a family man in Sonoma with two great kids, Eric and Emily, and assists his talented wife Cathy at their business: 180 Degree Meetings. For information on this destination complete meeting package company click on www.180degreemeetings.com.
So listen in on Sunday nights from 6 to 7 pm for all the excitement, yucks, and old fashioned scripted entertainment found on Radio Theatre of the Wild West!
