Alex Garcia is a flexible guy. He knows his salsa music. And his big band. He’s versed in heavy metal, classical, pop, funk, disco, rock, and world music. Truth be told, Alex has never met a musical genre he doesn’t like, and his varied appetites serve up an eclectic smorgasbord called Tune Up, an imaginative show found on KSVY 91.3 Sonoma every Saturday evening from 8-9pm. Originally a guitarist, Alex eventually switched to the saxophone, later mastering clarinet and flute as well. His experience as a local musician and songwriter counsels his song selection, making Tune Up a musician’s music show. From a family of musical types, Alex credits his upbringing with nurturing his gift: the radio was rarely silent at the Garcia house. Tune in each Saturday night for something new, something different, something unique. It’s never the same show twice.
