Board President & Radio Host
Steve moved to Sonoma with his wife and son in 1991 to accept the position as president and general manager of Sonoma Raceway, a job he held until his retirement at the end of 2020. Prior to arriving at the raceway, he spent 11 years in the marketing office of the Oakland A’s baseball team and 3 years as press secretary to then US Congressman Leon Panetta. He holds a BA from UC Berkeley. Steve hosts the Uncle Dirtbag Show on KSVY on Tuesdays from 11am to 1pm.
Margarita Ramirez-Dalton
Board Vice President
Margarita has lived in Sonoma Town since 2002 with her native Irish husband, Peadar Dalton. She has been a Board Member for over 5 years, and embraces the importance of local radio serving the wider community. She holds a BA from San Francisco State University in Radio, Broadcasting and Journalism. In her early career she spun Vinyl for a Bay area station. She has served and volunteered on other nonprofits in Sonoma. She held a position at a prominent SF Law Firm where she was in charge of training, marketing and attorney hiring. After many years she took a leap of faith to follow her passion. She became licensed as a seller of travel. She writes travel itineraries, organizes and facilitates cross cultural journeys to this day. Her greatest joy is connecting with people with her warmth and compassion.
Yvonne Hall
Secretary
Yvonne attended Santa Clara University and earned a BA in Psychology. She spent her entire working career at Levi Strauss & Co., both at the San Francisco headquarters in the Jeans Division and as President of Levi’s Mexico which managed both the Mexican business and the other six South American businesses.
Upon retiring, Yvonne moved to Glen Ellen, and then downtown Sonoma. She started doing volunteer board work at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, then La Luz Center (where she became acting Executive Director for two years). She also served on the board of Pets Lifeline for four years which ended in June of this year. Yvonne is delighted to be on KSVY radio on Monday mornings at 10:00 AM as a loyal sidekick to Simon Blattner on his show, Simon Says Sports.
Nate Lamar
Treasurer & Radio Host
A native of Sonoma County and CPA, Nate resides in Kenwood with his wife and three children. He has been obsessed with music and radio since childhood. Nate brings to the board his love of radio and music, along with nearly 20 years of accounting and tax experience. He looks forward to making a positive impact on the organization and our community as a whole.
Peter Calabrese
Board Member
Raised in the blue-collar mile-square city of Hoboken, New Jersey, Peter found his passion for media when he took a weekend job on the Ed Sullivan Show across the Hudson River in Manhattan. (on his first day at work he met Tessi O’Shea and the Beatles).
Sixty years later, after a career in Hollywood as a network producer/director in the 70’s; programming VP at NBC in the 80’s; Executive Producer for Madison Square Garden Productions and HBO in the ‘90’s, became Station Manager & VP national production for KQED in 1998. After resigning from KQED to start Q Media Productions, a TV production company based in SF and partnered with production studios in Hollywood and New York.
In 2014, at the suggestion of his longtime friend Tommy Smothers, Peter moved to Glen Ellen to retire. But not for long. In 2016 he started a media literacy program for the Napa school system that lasted until the Covid epidemic.
Victoria Mann
Board Member
Victoria moved to Sonoma in 2018 from Marin when she retired from a career in radio sales and sales management. The majority of her career was at iconic San Francisco radio stations KDFC, KKSF and KFOG. She retired from the Santa Rosa Amaturo radio group where she was their Regional Sales Manager. Victoria believes in the importance of local radio and community involvement. She is also a Board Director of the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club.
Kathleen Hill
Board Member & Host
Kathleen Hill is a Berkeley native who has written about food and wine
in Sonoma and way beyond for lots of years. She has hosted a KSVY
radio show since the station began. She has written 42 books, most with
her husband, Gerald Hill, ranging from law and political dictionaries to
guidebooks to wine regions of the West Coast. The Hills co-taught
American Politics & Government at two Canadian universities and two
California universities. Kathleen serves on five nonprofits’ boards of
directors.
Maricarmen Reyes
Board Member
Maricarmen Reyes is a proud lifelong resident of Sonoma Valley, born in Sonoma and raised in Schellville. Since 2005, she has lived in the Springs, where her strong ties to the community continue to flourish. Alongside her full-time role as an Outreach Coordinator for SVCHC, Maricarmen volunteers and serves on several local boards, consistently working to uplift others and strengthen the community. Whether she's organizing events, supporting neighbors, or tutoring children, Maricarmen brings heart, energy, and a deep love for Sonoma Valley to everything she does. As a member of the KSVY board, she believes in the value of community radio and hopes to make a positive contribution.
Dick Conte
Board Member & Host
Dick Conte is a celebrated jazz broadcaster and gifted pianist with a career spanning over six
decades. A defining voice in jazz radio, his past tenures include KJAZ, KMPX, KSFO, KKCY,
KKSF, and most recently, KCSM, where he served as DJ, Music Director, and Program Director
until 2025. As a pianist, he has performed at major festivals and shared the stage with greats
like Tony Bennett and Cassandra Wilson. Dick is a three-time Gavin Report Jazz Broadcaster
of the Year nominee and a dedicated mentor through the Dick Conte Jazz Piano Scholarship
Fund. He joins the KSVY Board, and listeners can tune in to his show, A Jazz Journey, every
week from 11 am to 1 pm.
