Calypso is highly energetic dance music from the Caribbean islands of Trinidad & Tobago. Your host, Winston Junior, fell in love with Calypso & Soca music when he first heard it in the early 80’s.  It’s got a distinctive rhythm that makes it super danceable.  We’ll be spinning danceable tunes for an hour every Monday night!

Traditional Calypso eloped with American Disco music in the late ’70’s, and the offspring was Soca – S-O-C-A or Soul of Calypso – maybe some of the best dance music ever produced.
