Symphonic band music.  It is a genre that features wind and percussion instruments - no strings and is performed by outstanding groups regularly, such as the Eastman Wind Ensemble, the USAF Band of the Golden West and the President’s Own US Marine Band. It is a genre that is many times ignored in the classical music world, yet contains some of the most lush, beautiful sounds imaginable.
